Phone the future

If you could call the future, what would you say? City of Sydney is giving Sydneysiders the opportunity to phone the future and leave a message of their vision for what they would like Sydney to be like in the year 2030. It’s all part of Sustainable Sydney 2030, a long term planning project which is geared towards having a sustainable city.

To make the call people will ‘dial the future’ from the Future Phone, which is currently touring the city, and leave a 90 second message. Your feedback will be taken on board and incorporated into the project so your vision can be achieved.

So far people have been talking about integrated transport and more cycle lanes, but there’s always room for utopian dreams such as free beer.

It’s your city, so tell them what you want. Keep an eye out for the spiral-shaped booth at the following locations:

Newtown Festival, Camperdown
Sunday, 11 November

Pitt Street Mall
Friday, 16 November, 9am - 6pm

Glebe Street Fair, Glebe Point Road
Sunday, 18 November

For more info visit the City of Sydney website here.

If you don't live in Sydney or can't make it to the Future Phone, share your vision for a sustainable future right here at Change the World. Ewok-style treehouses? A car-free CBD? An end to the pokies? The sky's the limit...

I would love it if the Sydney CBD was car-free and there were public bikes everywhere for anyone to use.
